Prince Harry's potential trip to the United Kingdom to mend fences with his father has been cast into doubt due to his apparent lack of initiative, according to an expert.
Harry's last visit to the UK was in early May for the Invictus Games' 10th-anniversary service at St Paul's Cathedral. However, he notably missed his friend Hugh Grosvenor's wedding in June, where his brother Prince William served as an usher. He was also absent from the recent Trooping the Colour parade, where Princess Kate made a public appearance.
Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond remarked on these missed opportunities, suggesting they reflect Harry's willingness—or lack thereof—to reconcile. She expressed skepticism, saying, "If Harry truly intended to confront his family and mend relationships, he would have likely allocated more time during his recent visits for his father, at least, to arrange meetings."
Regarding the prospect of reconciliation between Harry and Prince Charles, Bond commented, "I don’t believe William would be keen on that, especially considering his current responsibilities." She added cautiously, "I'll wait to see it happen, but it would be wonderful if Harry could spend some time, possibly at Balmoral this summer, and reconcile with his father."
Bond's observations underscore the ongoing complexities within the royal family amidst hopes for reconciliation between Harry and his father, Prince Charles.
