"Thomas Markle Drops Bombshell: The One Thing He Refuses Amid Explosive Feud with Meghan!"

 

Thomas Markle insists he isn't seeking sympathy after his fallout with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018. As he approaches his 80th birthday next month, Thomas has opened up about his estranged relationship with his daughter, Meghan Markle, claiming he "doesn't want pity." Their relationship deteriorated after a paparazzi scandal and his absence from her wedding in 2018, and they haven't been in contact for six years. Thomas has yet to meet his grandchildren, Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three, or even Prince Harry.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Thomas stated, "When you look at what Harry and Meghan have done since, like accusing the Royal Family of racism, it’s far worse than anything I’ve done. I don’t want pity and I don’t want this episode to define my life. I don’t want to be a footnote in history." He added that he has "had a good life and I am proud of what I've accomplished," but everything has been "overshadowed by what has happened in the last six years."

Thomas reflected on how he felt "vulnerable" when the drama with Harry and Meghan began. He missed Meghan's wedding after suffering two heart attacks, resulting in Charles walking her down the aisle. Despite their previously close relationship, they have been estranged for six years, making reconciliation unlikely.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Thomas also mentioned, "I’ve never been one for birthdays, but I know the one person I most want to hear from, Meghan, won’t be in touch. I would love to meet my grandchildren, but I would be happy with a photograph at this stage." He questioned why Harry never met him, stating, "What man gets married without meeting his wife’s father?"

An Emmy-award-winning Hollywood lighting director, Thomas reminisced about his career, saying, "They were interesting times. I loved my career and enjoyed being behind the camera. I worked with some of the biggest stars in Hollywood, like Elizabeth Taylor, and covered the red carpet at the Oscars." The relationship between Meghan and her father deteriorated in 2018 when Thomas staged paparazzi photos and, according to Meghan, lied about talking to the press.

Meghan discussed her broken relationship with her father during her 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, expressing her grief and saying, "I mean, I've lost my father." As Thomas's milestone birthday on July 18 approaches, he admits he doesn't expect to hear from Meghan but still holds onto hope.
