Why Jamie Lee Curtis will not attend the Oscars dinner despite being nominated

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis (64 years old), who is competing for a best supporting actress award at this year's Oscars, will not attend the traditional dinner for the nominees because she goes to bed early: "Mommy goes to bed early ", she told a journalist when asked about it, Foxnews reported.

Curtis has received her first Oscar nomination this year for her performance in the film All at once everywhere and the Hollywood Academy usually holds a dinner with all the candidates prior to the awards ceremony.

Over the weekend, Curtis attended the Film Independent Spirit Awards gala, where she told the Hollywood Reporter magazine that Thursday's Oscar nominee's dinner is too late for her.

The daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh insisted that she likes to rest all night, even if it means not being able to attend some of the events convened by the Hollywood Academy.

Responding to the reporter, the actress noted: "Now you could say, 'Jamie, you're nominated for an Academy Award. Are you going to be in the room with only the Academy Award nominees? And I've turned it down." said the American actress to the aforementioned specialized media.

"Why? Because mommy goes to bed early," she said about her absence. "Because 7:30 PM is going to be 9 before we even have food, and you know what? Nothing good happens to me after 9 o'clock. Nothing. Zero!" she added.

At the Oscars, which will be held next Sunday, March 12, Curtis will compete with Angela Bassett (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever), Hong Chau (The Whale), Kerry Condon (Inisherin's Banshee), Stephanie Hsu (All at once everywhere).
