Danish actress Amanda Collin has been announced to play an important role in the second season of the popular TV series "House of the Dragon".
Collin, known for her acting prowess, will portray the character Jeyne Arryn, bringing more depth to the series that serves as a prequel to the worldwide hit, "Game of Thrones".
Despite the Hollywood strike affecting the industry, production of the series is steadily moving ahead. With a cast including Emma D’Arcy, Matt Smith, and Olivia Cooke, the second season of "House of the Dragon" is slated to continue its production until September this year.
The series is based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood” and takes place 200 years prior to the events of "Game of Thrones". The plot focuses on the descent of the House of Targaryen into a civil war.
The story begins with King Viserys Targaryen, portrayed by Paddy Considine, torn between choosing his brother Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) or his daughter Princess Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) as his successor.
"Game of Thrones", which first aired in 2011, rapidly became a global phenomenon. The award-winning HBO series concluded in 2019, leaving fans with a divisive finale. As a prequel, "House of the Dragon" aims to delve into the rich history of the realm and give fans an extended glimpse into the world they came to love.
