As evidenced by his surname, David Hasselhoff has German ancestors although he was born in Baltimore, Maryland.

 At 193 centimeters tall and stocky, he became one of the most popular faces on television in the '80s and '90s. He now takes advantage of it to achieve secondary roles in the cinema.

Hasselhoff studied Drama in Chicago and Los Angeles, and made his acting debut in 1973 with the series The Young and the Restless. 

Shortly after, he would make the leap to the big screen by appearing in Revenge of the Cheerleaders (1976) and Clash of the Galaxies (1979), titles that obviously have not gone down in the history of the seventh art. 

It was in 1982 when he reached the highest levels of popularity by playing Michael Knight, the driver of Fantastic Car. However, the cinema did not open its doors to him and he had to settle for discreet telefilms.

In 1989 he participated in the series Baywatch, which was canceled after its first season on NBC. Hasselhoff believed there was room to be made for the project, so he bought the rights and got it back on track in 1991. It was a smash hit around the world, surviving for ten long seasons.

After leaving Baywatch and overcoming an alcohol addiction problem, Hasselhoff has been having some prominence in the cinema, for example in Question of Balls (2004) or Click (2006), but always far from having a leading role. .

Immortalized on the Hollywood walk of fame since 1996, the actor separated from Pamela Beach after 17 years of marriage and started a dispute over the custody of her children.

 Hassle can usually be seen at sporting events such as the World Cup, the NBA Finals or the Olympic Games, since he is a great fan. 

By the way, his fame as a lifeguard is not entirely uncertain: in 1995 he saved a drowning child and rescued a man who had been trapped in his car after a traffic accident.
