Sharon Stone says she was tricked into revealing her private parts during a famous scene in Basic Instinct
63-year-old Sharon Stone wrote a memoir called "The Beauty of Living Twice", excerpts from which were made available to Vanity Fair magazine. In them, the Hollywood actress spoke about the filming of the erotic thriller "Basic Instinct", which in 1992 brought her worldwide fame. In particular, she described how the famous interrogation scene was filmed, where her character Catherine Tramell, who is not wearing underwear, deliberately slowly switches one leg to the other several times, shocking those present.
Sharon stated that she was forced to demonstrate her private part of the body by deception. According to her, director Paul Ver Hoeven asked her to take off her underwear.
“White color reflects light, and therefore we see that you have panties on,” he told the actress, promising that nothing would be noticeable on the screen.
Sharon saw the result only after the material was entirely filmed. Moreover, the viewing took place in the presence of agents and lawyers who had nothing to do with this project.
"That's how I saw my vagina," Stone said. After that, she gave Verhoeven a slap and ran out. And then she went to her lawyer. However, on reflection, Sharon decided to leave everything as it is since this scene fits very harmoniously into the image of her character.
Verhoeven previously said in an interview that Stone was well aware of what was happening. “She is lying. Any actress knows what she will see if you ask her to remove her underwear and point the camera there, ”he said. According to him, Sharon was not at all against nudity. However, then her agent expressed concern that such a scene could ruin Sharon's career. However, in fact, the role in the picture of Verhoeven turned her into a superstar and brought the status of a Hollywood s-x symbol.
In her book, the actress emphasized that only her version of events has the right to exist since this is her body. “Yes, there are many points of view on this topic, but since this is about my vagina, let me say: other points of view are complete bullshit,” she said.
Sharon also said that producers advised her to have s-x with a co-star to achieve better on-screen chemistry. This was before the Basic Instinct.
