Ben Affleck regrets his divorce from Jennifer Garner

Hollywood star Ben Affleck confessed in an interview that his biggest regret in life is having separated from the mother of his three children.

They started dating in 2004 and were so sure of their love that they got married the following year. Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck were the ideal couples in Hollywood until they announced their separation in 2015 but, like never before, the actor opened his heart in an interview for The New York Times and made a painful confession.

The 47-year-old actor, who has starred in several films including "Argo" and "Pearl Harbor," spoke of the moment his relationship with Jennifer Garner began to unravel. "I drank relatively normally for a long time. What happened was I started drinking more and more when my marriage was falling apart, this was 2015, 2016. My drinking, of course, created more marital problems.

In this interview that was published today, Ben Affleck made a confession that, perhaps, many fans of the couple "The biggest e expected regret of my life is this divorce. The shame is really toxic," the actor said.

Jennifer Garner, his now ex-wife, has not abandoned the father of her three children: Violet (14 years old), Seraphina (11 years old), and Samuel (7 years old) and a new partner have not been known either, although at one point it was rumored that he had a special closeness with Bradley Cooper. The actress has been Ben Affleck's refuge even in the most uncomfortable moments, such as when he was caught in an alcohol relapse.

“There is no positive byproduct of shame. It's just a horrible, toxic feeling of low self-esteem and self-loathing," the actor told the US media. "It's not particularly healthy for me to obsess over failures, relapses, and beating myself up. I have certainly made mistakes.

I've certainly done things that I regret but you have to pick yourself up, learn from it, learn some more, try to move on."

When their separation became known, Jennifer Garner expressed that Ben Affleck is and will be the love of her life, but that he is a complicated person. "I didn't marry a movie star, I married him and I would make that decision again," said Jennifer, one of the prettiest actresses in the business.

"You can't have these three babies and a lot of what we had, he's the love of my life. What am I going to say about that? He's the brightest person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous.
